I don't have a studio yet

But I think about it all the time.

Not necessarily what colour the walls will be or which chair will sit in the corner - although, knowing me, I'll eventually think far too much about those things too.

I think mostly about how I want it to feel.

I want treatments to feel unhurried. I want there to be time to actually look at someone's skin, talk, change the plan if that's what the skin needs that day. I want beautiful products, very good treatments and a space where you can switch off for a while without it feeling like another appointment you have to squeeze into your day.

Maybe I'm a little delusional about the whole thing.

I've been told more than once that the way I imagine working isn't realistic. That you can't take that much time with people, be that particular about the experience, refuse to rush treatments and still expect to run a profitable business.

Apparently, my version of a beauty studio is a fairly efficient route to bankruptcy.

And look - maybe there is some truth in that. I haven't built one yet.

But I also sometimes wonder whether the people telling me this simply don't fully understand what I'm trying to create.

I don't dream about having the busiest studio in Munich. I don't want to squeeze as many appointments as possible into a day or build something enormous. I want to become exceptionally good at what I do, work with people who value that, and create the kind of experience I would personally want to pay for.

Maybe that's naive.

Maybe it's a terrible business plan.

Or maybe there are enough people out there who want exactly that.

I suppose I'll find out.

I've been working as an aesthetician for a few years now, in different places and with different brands, treatments and technologies. Every place has taught me something - including what I would one day like to do differently.

And somewhere along the way, the idea of having a little space of my own started becoming less of a maybe one day and more of a dream I genuinely want to make happen.

The problem is: I don't have it yet.

I don't have the perfect treatment room. I don't have the keys. I don't have my dream product shelf or my own treatment menu.

And for a while I think I had this idea that I needed all of those things before I could start creating something that felt like mine.

But maybe I don't.

So I made this instead.

A little space on the internet where I can start figuring it out.

I want to write about skin - not because the internet needs another article telling you to wear SPF, but because after working with people's skin every day, I have a lot of thoughts about the way we treat it, what we expect from it and the enormous industry we've built around trying to make it perfect.

I want to talk about treatments I'm interested in, things I'm learning, products I actually use and the ones I don't understand the hype around.

But I also don't want this to become a place where every sentence somehow has to come back to skincare.

I love clothes. I love travelling. I love beautiful spaces and tiny details. I spend a slightly ridiculous amount of my free time swimming, cycling and running. Sometimes I want to talk about those things too.

Because ultimately, if I ever create my own studio, I don't want it to feel like something manufactured from a Pinterest board.

I want it to feel like me.

And I suppose this is where I start working out what that means.

I have no idea how long it will take me to get there.

But when I eventually get the keys, it will be quite nice to come back here and see where it started.

For now, this is my space.
